Drug Awareness Rally held at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, Kumaracoil

The Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education hosted a significant event to commemorate the International Day against Drug Abuse on 26th June. Organized by the NCC 11TN BN NCC Nagercoil as part of their annual camp, this event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug use and to inform the public about free treatment options available at government hospitals and through NGOs. Major Dr. KR Ajindranath, the Deputy Camp Officer, inaugurated the event and welcomed the attendees. The rally witnessed the participation of 500 cadets who actively engaged in the awareness program. The awareness rally was flagged off by Dr. Vijayakumar, the former President of IMA. The rally commenced from the NICHE campus, covering Kumaracoil, Puliyoorkuruchi, Padmanabhapuram, and concluded at Thuckalay. Government officials and police officers warmly welcomed the cadets along the route, encouraging them to promote the message of drug awareness. Colonel Unnikrishnan CP, the Camp Commandant, and Major Dr. KR Ajindranath meticulously supervised the event. Their dedication, along with the participation of numerous Associate NCC officers, Subedar Major, PI staff, and other civil servants, ensured the success of the rally. Dr. Murugan and other university officials also played a vital role in organizing and supporting the awareness campaign. This event highlighted the crucial need for drug abuse awareness and provided essential information about free treatment options, making a significant impact on the community.
