On 3rd April 2024, the Department of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education organized a one-day seminar programme on the Specification of Modern Electronic Equipments in Aviation, in the AC auditorium of the university. Mr Suresh G S, Principal Aircraft Engineer in Helicopters Electrical Systems, Botswana Air Force was invited as the Chief Guest, he has 26 years of experience in the Indian Air Force and 12 years of experience in Botswana Defence Force. The event started at 10 a.m., with the welcome address followed by Opening remarks and an introduction of the programme given by Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Mr Shajin Nargunam who highlighted the importance of modern electronic equipment in aviation. In the morning session, Mr. Suresh talked about the aircraft's external and internal lighting systems. He highlighted the Primary and Secondary AC and DC sources of electrical systems on light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty aircraft followed by a lecture on the aircraft fire protection system and anti-icing and de-icing systems. The programme wrapped up around 3:00 p.m. with a vote of thanks. Both the sessions were very interactive and received well with the participants. Participation certificates were distributed to all the students.
