The Department of Biomedical Engineering organised a “Career Guidance for Biomedical Aspirants” programme for the students on 19th March 2024, in the Audio-visual Hall, NICHE. The event was coordinated by Dr. M. Murugan, Dean-Faculty of Technology and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr.S.Albert Jerome, Associate Professor, department of Biomedical Engineering. Students received guidance regarding the scope of their course and various job opportunities mainly in companies and their job roles from Mr.M.Mubashir, Programme Manager and Mr.Surath, Product Demonstrator of Harvey Biomedical, Bangalore. They enlightened the students about various sectors in biomedical engineering and gave insight about their career-focused training programmes, which have partnerships with leading companies like Stryker, GE, Philips, Siemens, Medtronics, etc. for training and placement. Upon the conclusion of the session, the students were handed a career work book to fill out, which wass undoubtedly beneficial to self-analyse themselves. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Lisha Daniel, Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering. Students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering participated and reaped the benefits.
