Techstars_Startup Weekend Programme

The Institution’s Innovation Council of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education along with the StartupTN organized a 3 day program on techstars_ Startup Weekend at CSE Smart Class Room, NICHE. The program was conducted from 2 to 4 February 2024. A total of 26 students from various colleges attended the program. The event was organized with the theme of “AI for Good”. Day 1 began with the inaugural function where Pro Vice Chancellor (Academic) Dr. A. Shajin Nargunam delivered the presidential address. Mr. N. Rahul, Project Lead of StartupTN, Government of Tamil Nadu delivered the keynote address and briefed the initiatives of StartupTN. Following this Mr. Lakshmipathy Ganesh Eswaran, Senior Software Engineer, Open Weaver, Chennai delivered the guest address to the participants. The inaugural session was followed by team formation for idea execution. Day 2 students were given ideas of model validation and business model canvas by Mr. Kailaash Jeevan J, Founder & CEO, Tresbyte Technologies LLP. Mr. Lakshmipathy Ganesh Eswaran gave the students a walkthrough on the Open Weaver platform which is used for building Artificial Intelligence applications and gave the students details instructions on converting their ideas to product. In the afternoon, stuents began building their prototype. Mr. Sathish, Chief Mentor, Karka Academy delivered a special lecture to the students on entrepreneurs and startup. Day 3 the students were asked to pithch the developed prototype. The judging panel consists of Dr. R. S. Rimal Isaac, Assistant Professor of Nanotechnology, NICHE, Mr. Lakshmipathy Ganesh Eswaran and Mr. Sathish. The students presented their product and was evaluated, and winners and runners were selected. The winning teams were given prizes, and all the students were given participation certificates. Students gave their feedback on the event and the program ended by vote of thanks by Mr. Gigin Durai, Project Associate, StartupTN. The program was organized by Dr. R. S. Rimal Isaac and Mr. Gigin Durai.
