National Voters Day Awareness Program Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, in collaboration with the Padmanabhapuram Revenue Sub-Division Office, conducted an extensive Voter's Day campaign and awareness program covering the entire zone. This initiative was undertaken in commemoration of National Voters Day. The event witnessed the active involvement of key officials such as J. Loretta, Assistant Commissioner of Nagercoil Revenue Sub-Divisional Office, Dinesh Chandran, Personal Assistant for Sub Collector, Kalkulam Tahsildar Kannan, and Thiruvattar Tahsildar Purandara Das, alongside Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. Together, they organized a spirited student rally at the Padmanabhapuram Revenue Divisional Office, officially inaugurating the event with the waving of the official flag. During the program, University Registrar Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan led the students in taking a pledge, underscoring the significance of exercising voting rights. The students, infused with enthusiasm, presented and emphasized their pledge to the public as they embarked on a rally from the Padmanabhapuram Sub-Collector's Office, passing through Thuckalay Bus Stand, and culminating at the Town Hall with banners emphasizing the importance of National Voters Day. Throughout the rally, the participants highlighted the crucial aspect of suffrage to the general public. The Thuckalay police officers played a pivotal role in managing and regulating traffic on the National Highway, ensuring the safety of the participants. Over a hundred students from Noorul Islam University actively participated in this impactful event. Acknowledging the collaborative efforts, Dean Dr. Shankaranarayanapillai, University-level Event Coordinator Dr. Murugan, Public Relations Officer Dr. G. Ramadas, and National Student Service Program Coordinator Dr. Unnikrishnan, along with Padmanabhapuram Sub-Divisional Revenue Officers, successfully executed the event. This campaign is poised to generate awareness and instill a sense of importance regarding voting among the public.
