15 Years of Academic Excellence and Inaugurates 2023-24 Academic Year

Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), a leading institution for education and engineering in South India, celebrated its 15th year of recognized university status with grandeur. The inauguration ceremony of the 2023-24 academic year took place on September 4th at 11 am in the university auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of the Honorable Mr. D. Mano Thankaraj, Tamil Nadu Minister for Milk and Dairy Resource Development and Member of the Padmanabhapuram Legislative Assembly, who served as the chief guest. In his inspiring address to the students, he emphasized the pivotal role of education in social justice and urged students to approach their studies with passion and humility. He stressed the importance of utilizing available technologies to realize their full potential and encouraged them to contribute to society without discrimination or expectations. Kottar Emeritus Bishop Peter Remigius blessed the students and presented certificates for the COVID Crisis Relief Scholarships. Bishop of Kanyakumari Diocese Rt. Dr. Jainty. Prakash spoke about the university's achievements and introduced the Born@nims Scholarship. Shri G. Vijayaraghavan, the first CEO of Thiruvananthapuram Techno Park, shared insights on the future of education and technology, advocating for the establishment of the Kerala and Kanyakumari New Education Corridor. Former Vice-Chancellor of Kerala stressed the importance of collaboration between academia and the business world, especially concerning industry linkage programs implemented through the university. Nanu Viswanathan, President of WMC Global Forum, highlighted opportunities and needs in the field of marine science. Prof. Dr. M.K.C. Nair, D.Sc., Director of NIMS Spectrum Child Development Research Centre at the University of Health Sciences, delivered a special address on Higher Education. Thiruvananthapuram Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Reguchandran Nair and former State Chief Information Commissioner, and present Noorul Islam Higher Education Pro Chancellor (Education) Dr. R. Perumalsamy reminisced about the university's excellence in higher education, underlining its remarkable 15-year journey and achievements. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Shajin Naragunam explained the academic policies and facilities of the university, providing valuable insights for the incoming students. In a significant gesture, Honorable D. Mano Thangaraj inaugurated a free Spoken English training Centre for students from Kulasekaram, Kattathurai, Thuckalay Government High Schools, and Moolachal and Cherukkol High Schools, alongside the unveiling of the 15-year special logo. The Registrar Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan expressed gratitude to all participants. The ceremony concluded with university students and officials escorting the new students to their classrooms, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional drums, symbolizing the start of another promising academic year at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education.
