The Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Literary Club, an event that took place on 18-08-2023. The ceremony was graced by distinguished individuals and marked the official launch of the club, made possible through collaboration with three renowned organizations in the Kanyakumari District: Kanyakumari District Malayalam Samajam Kuzithurai, Kanyakumari District Akshara Lokam Thukalay, and Thukalay Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Association. Presiding over the inaugural ceremony was Dr. R. Perumal Samy, the University Pro-Chancellor. The event was attended and facilitated by esteemed personalities including Vice-Chancellor Dr. A. K. Kumaraguru and Registrar Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan. The kuthuvilakku was ceremoniously ignited by Wing Commander K T Sudhir, the President of Kanyakumari District Malayalam Samajam. The inauguration address was delivered by Dr. K. K Sundaresan, the former Registrar of Kerala Kalamandalam. Notably, Thuckalay Haleema, a member of the executive committee of the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers and Artists Federation, delivered the keynote speech. Prominent figures such as Karikakam Sree Kumar, Editor-in-Chief of Malayalam Samajam Monthly; Parameswaran Nair, President of Akshara Lokam; Vinod, Coordinator of Kanyakumari District Malayalam Mission; Murugan Krishnapuram; Biju Vikraman; Chitharal Vijayakumar; Paingulam Venugopal; and Nada Sivakumar, along with other forum members, shared and discussed their creative works with the students. The occasion was an opportunity for these esteemed personalities to impart their insights on how to showcase one's creativity and hidden talents to the wider public. They emphasized the importance of literature, culture, and intellectual endeavors in all academic pursuits, underscoring that such a literary forum could play a pivotal role in nurturing talents and knowledge. The distinguished guests were acknowledged for their participation and contributions with shawls and a commemorative book authored by University Pro-Chancellor M S Faisal Khan. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. G. Ramadas, the University Literary Club coordinator. Dr. C. L. Pramila, the Head of the Malayalam Department, gracefully coordinated the master of ceremony proceedings. The vote of thanks was delivered by Professor Ajin Monish, the club's coordinator.
