Noorul Islam University PhD scholar from Chemistry Department bags Prestigious DST INSPIRE Fellowship. Ms. A. Krishnendu, a PhD research scholar from the Department of Chemistry, has been awarded DST INSPIRE Fellowship under the INSPIRE programme division, DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The candidates under INSPIRE Fellowship scheme was selected through a very rigorous selection process conducted at the national level. The INSPIRE scheme strives to attract the best talent in research with an aim to promote high-quality research. In a moment of great honour to the institution, a research scholar from Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) has been awarded for the coveted DST INSPIRE Fellowship. Ms. A. Krishnendu, the PhD research scholar will work on " Electrochemical conversion of Carbon Dioxide into Formic acid to reduce green gas emission: Synthesis, characterization and catalytic study of copper complex". The research work will pave a way for the development of innovative materials for the coversion of CO2 into useful compounds which will be cost effective, easy to install and fulfil the application needs," the university said in a statement. Congratulating the budding researcher, Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Pro Chancellor (Academic), Vice-Chancellor and Registrar congratulated the scholar for this award and hoped that she would justify the fellowship with quality research outcome. According to Professor J. Joseph, Department of Chemistry, Ms. A. Krishnendu will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs. 34, 000 for the first year, Rs. 40,000 for the 2nd, 3rd year, 4th and the 5th year respectively. In addition to this, the scholar is also eligible for a research contingency grant of Rs, 20000 per year under the scheme," he added. A. Krishnendu thanked the Management, the supervisor and other members of the department for her achievement. Earlier, Five research scholars of NICHE were selected for DST INSPIRE Fellowship.
