Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan envisioned an institution that would transform lives through access to quality higher education rooted in academic excellence, innovation, and social responsibility. At a time when opportunities for advanced learning were limited in many regions, his commitment to educational empowerment laid the foundation for what would become one of the leading centres of higher education in the country.

With strategic foresight and unwavering dedication, he established Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education as a multidisciplinary institution designed to meet the evolving demands of science, engineering, technology, management, and applied research. His efforts culminated in NICHE attaining Deemed-to-be-University status in 2008, a landmark achievement that accelerated its academic and research growth.

He firmly believed that education must extend beyond classroom instruction and foster innovation, critical thinking, and ethical leadership. Under his guidance, the institution strengthened its academic framework, expanded infrastructure, introduced advanced laboratories, and encouraged faculty-driven research initiatives aligned with national development priorities.
