World Environment Day 2025: Green Initiatives by NICHE’s Green Energy Eco Club

The Green Energy Eco Club at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanyakumari, celebrated World Environment Day on June 4 and 5, 2025, with impactful green initiatives promoting environmental sustainability. On June 4, distinguished dignitaries, including Dr. Tessy Thomas (Vice Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Kuncheria P. Isaac, Prof. (Dr.) G. Gopa Kumar, Dr. Faizul Rehman, Shri M.S. Faizal Khan (Pro-Chancellor), Shri Madathi Sivan, and Dr. A. Shajin Nargunam (Pro Vice-Chancellor), participated in a sapling planting and watering ceremony on campus. On June 5, Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar, planted a sapling and delivered an address underscoring the significance of tree planting, environmental conservation, and reducing plastic usage. Dr. Menaka D, Club Coordinator, concluded with a vote of thanks. The Eco Club also conducted an online Environmental Quiz, rewarding participants with e-certificates. With enthusiastic involvement from faculty and student members, the event was a resounding success, reinforcing NICHE’s commitment to a greener future.
