Ilakkiya Inbam Seminar: Celebrating Literary Joy at NICHE

The NICHE Literary Club hosted a vibrant seminar titled “Ilakkiya Inbam” (Literary Joy) in the Professor L. Srinivasan Hall at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), Kanyakumari. The event drew over 100 enthusiastic participants, including students, faculty, and club members. Dr. Dhanarsh, Literary Club Coordinator and Professor of Tamil, opened with a warm welcome address. Dr. P. Thirumalvalavan, Registrar, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the role of literature in preserving Tamil culture. The chief guest, Dr. V. Venu Kumar, retired Professor from South Travancore Hindu College and member of the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, captivated attendees with an insightful lecture on how literature fosters happiness, emotional resilience, and cultural identity. Dr. G. Ramadas, Literary Club Coordinator, felicitated the chief guest with a memento, and Dr. C. L. Prameela, Head of the Malayalam Department, concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. The seminar successfully deepened participants’ appreciation for Tamil literature, fostering an engaging platform for literary discourse at NICHE.
