SYNC-TO-STUDIO: The Film Sound Journey

The Sukumari School of Multimedia and Film Technology at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education launched the first day of “Sync-to-Studio: The Film Sound Journey” with an engaging session led by Arun Rama Varma, a renowned sound designer and alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. During the hands-on workshop, Film and Animation students gained practical exposure to professional sound recording techniques used in filmmaking. The session introduced modern sound recording equipment and demonstrated the effective use of microphones during film shoots. Students also learned the fundamentals of sync sound recording on location, gaining valuable insights into how sound design enhances storytelling and adds emotional depth to cinema. The workshop proved to be an inspiring and enriching learning experience for aspiring filmmakers at NICHE.
