Awareness Programme on Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) at NICHE Kanyakumari

An awareness programme on Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY), a Central Government initiative, was conducted at Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education by the Social Welfare Department, Kanyakumari District. Launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, AVYAY aims to enhance the quality of life of senior citizens across the country through care, support, and welfare measures. The session emphasized the importance of understanding, respect, and intergenerational solidarity, fostering stronger bonds between senior citizens and the younger generation. Students gained meaningful insights into the challenges faced by the elderly and reflected on society’s collective responsibility in ensuring their dignity, care, and well-being.
