In alignment with the nationwide drug awareness campaign led by the Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) hosted a comprehensive program on August 15, 2025. Vice Chancellor Dr. Tessy Thomas presided as the chief guest, underscoring the importance of collective action against substance abuse.

The event sought to educate students and staff about the serious dangers of drug abuse and to reinforce NICHE's commitment to a drug-free campus and society. Highlights of the program included a thought-provoking speech, an impactful mass pledge, and the formation of a human chain. Dr. P. Tirumalvalavan, Honourable Registrar, administered the mass pledge, with over 400 participants—including students, faculty, and administrative staff—solemnly vowing to avoid drugs and actively promote a drug-free environment.

This united pledge and visible show of solidarity stand as a strong testament to NICHE’s resolve in fighting substance abuse and fostering a healthy, safe educational community.
