Guest Lecture on “Energy Absorption Using Solar Collectors” Broadens Students’ Insights into Renewable Energy

The Department of Aerospace & Automobile Engineering at NICHE organized a guest lecture on “Energy Absorption Using Solar Collectors” at the Smart Classroom. The event aimed to expose students to cutting-edge technologies and real-world applications in renewable energy, with a special focus on solar energy systems for sustainable development.

The session featured Mr. A. Pradeep, Assistant Professor, Government Engineering College, Wayanad, Kerala, a specialist in renewable energy and thermal engineering. He addressed key topics such as the fundamentals of solar energy, different types of solar collectors, mechanisms of energy absorption, and the importance of thermal performance in aerospace and automotive sectors. Mr. Pradeep also highlighted the latest advancements, including the application of nanomaterials in selective coatings, hybrid collector designs, and integration with thermal storage systems.

The program began with a warm welcome by Dr. Joeslin Herbert G.M, Head of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, followed by a keynote address from Dr. S. Robin Divahar, Head, Department of Automobile Engineering. The event culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. V. V. Manikandan, acknowledging the speaker’s valuable insights and the faculty’s efforts in organizing a seamless event.

This lecture provided participants with both theoretical fundamentals and practical knowledge, significantly enriching their understanding of sustainable energy technologies and their applications in aerospace and automotive fields.
