NICHE ASLP Seminar Series IV Focuses on Intervention Strategies for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders

The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (ASLP) at NICHE organized Seminar Series – IV on “Intervention Strategies for Speech and Language Delays in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders”. Conducted online, the session featured Dr. Kala Samayan, Professor & HoD I/C, Dept. of ASLP, SRM Medical College Hospitals & Research Center, Chennai, as the resource person.

The program began with a warm welcome by Prof. S. A. Ramsankar, Head of the Department, after which Dr. Kala Samayan delivered an in-depth keynote focusing on therapeutic approaches, practical strategies, and case-based examples for effective intervention. She highlighted the importance of individualized therapy, active family participation, and the integration of technology in speech and language therapy for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

A total of 54 students and 7 faculty members participated, engaging in lively discussions and an interactive Q&A session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Fenisha, Speech-Language Pathologist, acknowledging the resource person’s valuable contributions and the efforts of the organizing team.

The seminar proved to be highly informative, practical, and professionally enriching, equipping participants with strategies and skills to enhance their future practice in the field.
