Welcome to the Department of Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry of NICE became an integral part of NICHE in the year 2009 when the status of deemed to be University was awarded. Since its inception, the department of Chemistry has provided both basic and engineering oriented Chemistry theory and practical courses for the B.E/B.Tech students. Apart from this, the Department formally started PhD program in the year 2009, M.Phil program in the year 2012 and M.Sc Program in 2013. The vision of the Department is to provide quality teaching and high level research to make an impact at global level.
The Department consists of experienced, enthusiastic energetic faculty members, who are experts in their teaching & research fields, evident from their publications and research funding in the reputed funding agencies. The department has set up laboratories with some modern equipment's. The Department of Chemistry is dedicated to chemistry excellence by building research programs to address the scientific and technological problems that the ever-changing, science-centered world of the twenty-first century presents. The Department provides many opportunities for students to have a good understanding of the fundamentals of all areas of chemistry. In addition to state-of-the-art laboratory courses that provide hands-on experience to students at all levels, meticulous lecture courses in the general fields of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry are held on a regular basis. Final year Chemistry students will be thoroughly immersed in project work to provide them a view of current research in academia and industry. Our goal is to develop highly qualified and knowledgeable graduates who will work in academia, industry, or government. Our M.Sc toppers got selected to receive DST INSPIRE fellowship to pursuing research in our university and other reputed research institutes.
