Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education, deemed to be university, foresees the need for professionally qualified technologists in the medical fraternity, and has perceived the Department of Biomedical Science and Technology from which department of Allied Health Sciences is carved out since 2017. Ultimately, the emphasis is to provide a knowledge-based, timely, cost effective and high quality service to improve the quality and accessibility of health care for all people, and enhance the patient care by supporting all aspects of care related technology.
The department owes Bachelor Degree programmes in Renal Dialysis Technology, Cardiac Care Technology, Perfusion Technology, Human Genetics and Molecular Biology, Audiology and Speech Language Pathology and Forensic Science. To excel in the field, Post graduate program for Human Genetics and Molecular Biology and M.Phil. programmes are also offered.
The Department of Allied Health Sciences enjoys a good echo friendly infrastructure. The students are nurtured and facilitated in understanding theories and concepts with specialised theory and practical sessions. The courses train the students in various aspects, classroom lectures and practical training in the hospital. The students are provided with an active field experience in various departments of our sister medical institutions, and get a deep knowledge about the existing medical devices and instruments.
The Bachelor of Science courses are offered in semester pattern. Further, the students perform field internships in a variety of prestigious medical or any health-related organizations, research facilities, and government agencies located at various parts of India, during their vacations.
Bachelor of Science (Cardiac Care Technology):
Cardiac Care Technology course is designed to provide highly defined cardiac care technologists to assist the doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of heart-related and blood vessels-related conditions. The course focuses to develop skills and techniques in students to work individually as a cardiovascular technologist and various other positions.
Bachelor of Science (Perfusion Technology):
The perfusion technologists assist the surgeons in the operating rooms during heart and lung surgeries and manage patients on ventilators. The course also throws considerable light on operating the associated equipment that is used to support or assume the function of the lungs and the heart during surgical procedures, under the guidance of the healthcare practitioner.
Bachelor of Science (Renal Dialysis Technology)
The branch details with the study of the process of removing excess water, solutes, and toxins from the blood in people whose kidneys can no longer perform these functions naturally. Renal Dialysis Technicians course is designed to prepare students to administer haemodialysis treatments for patients with renal failure, under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner. This course imparts the operation of dialysis instruments with strict protocols to guarantee safe and effective outcomes for patients undergoing this four-hour procedure.
Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science)
The course offers the study of scientific applications and knowledge that helps in the investigation of crimes. This course covers a wide range of subjects and how to carefully analyse and study different objects at crime scenes as they are the most important proofs such as blood stains, soil, bones, fingerprints, recovering data from mobiles, laptops, computers, DNA profiling, etc. The course helps the students to develop certain skills like intelligence, viewing the cases from different perspectives, strong analytical skills, keen observation skills, patience, ability to work with other experts, etc.
Bachelor of Science (Human Genetics and Molecular Biology)
The Branch offers under graduate, post graduate and Master of philosophy programmes as of now. The course highlights diverse subjects related to genetic traits passing down from one generation to another. The course also provides in-depth knowledge about how the genetic and genomic technologies study the genomes of humans and disease mechanisms.
